Gunung Mulu National Park, Sarawak, Malaysia

OUR JOURNEY IN RAINFOREST

Text and Pictures by Maeda Ichro, Apr 24 2000

Let us talk about the trip I have made. Now I'm back from Gunung Mulu National Park, Sarawak, Malaysia. Great caves, deep rainforest, and such wonder I Have seen.

Sarawak, Borneo, Malaysia

They say Borneo is the third largest island on earth, but it's too large for us to see it as an island. Far south of Hong Kong or Makau, in the south china sea. You can click the postcard below for the larger image.

Postcard... map of Borneo

The northan half of Borneo is now Malaysia (and Burunei), and the rest is indonesia. And the western part of Malaysian area is Sarawak. Mulu is in east of Sarawak, almost next to Burunei.

Gunung Mulu National Park

"Gunung" means mountain. In this park, truely mysterious scenaries are seen in the rainforest around the mt. Mulu.

The first expedition was in 1974, and over the 60% of caves is still not explored yet.

Let's go!
